1. The Standard Mixing Ratio

The most common and effective mixing ratio for this combination is 1:2 (one part bleaching powder to two parts developer).

• Example: 30g of Bleaching Powder + 60g (or ml) of 6% Developer.

• Texture Goal: You want a smooth, creamy, yogurt-like consistency. If it’s too thick, it will dry out on the hair and stop lifting; if it’s too runny, it can bleed onto untreated areas.

2. Why Use a 6% (20 Vol) Developer?

A 6% developer is highly versatile and generally safer for the hair than higher volumes (like 30 or 40 Vol).

• It opens the hair cuticle gently, making it ideal for lifting hair by 1 to 2 levels, covering stubborn grays, or doing a controlled, slower lift on pre-lightened or fragile hair.

• The addition of Keratin Complex in both products helps minimize protein loss during the chemical process, maintaining better hair elasticity.

3. Step-by-Step Application Guide

Preparation

• Safety First: Always wear protective gloves. Use a non-metallic bowl (plastic or glass) and a plastic tint brush. Metal can react chemically with the bleach.

• Sectioning: Divide dry, unwashed hair into four clean quadrants to ensure quick and even application.

Application Strategy

• For Virgin Hair (Full Head): Start applying 1 inch away from the scalp, working through the mid-lengths and ends first. The heat from the scalp makes the roots process much faster. Once the lengths have started to lift, go back and apply to the roots.

• For Root Touch-ups: Apply strictly to the new growth, avoiding overlapping onto previously bleached hair to prevent breakage.

Timing & Monitoring

• Check Regularly: Check a strand every 10 minutes to monitor the lift level and hair elasticity.

• Processing Time: Leave it on for 20 to 45 minutes depending on the starting hair level and desired result. Never exceed 50 minutes.

Rinsing & Aftercare

• Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water until the product is completely washed out.

• Shampoo with a pH-balancing or post-color shampoo, and follow up with a deep conditioning treatment or a protein mask to seal the cuticle.
